The Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees is pleased to announce that Ms Jacki Ellis, Portfolio Manager, Retirement Strategy from Aware Super has been awarded the ASI Investment Rising Star Award.
Announcing the award, Federal Hermes International's Ian Manton-Hall said that Ms Ellis’s impressive skill set had seen her contribute significantly to innovative investment developments at the fund.
“Jacki has a great blend of intellect and intuition about investments and she is fully focused on member outcomes and delivering a dignified retirement for members,” Mr Manton-Hall said.
“Jacki is known across the organisation and recognised as a leader due to her tireless and passionate advocacy for the adoption of a member outcomes lens through which to assess investment and product design.”
Accepting the award, Ms Ellis thanked the investment leadership team at Aware Super (the new name for First State Super) for supporting and guiding her, adding it had been an incredible journey.
“I really appreciate the license we have to think big and innovate. We’ve got such an opportunity as a fund and as an industry to reimagine the way in which we support our members and deliver on the purpose of super and that’s to deliver an income in retirement,” she said.
“I‘m delighted to have my dream role in such a fund that really walks the talk of our members’ first philosophy. I’m sure I’ll get a lot of inspiration and knowledge out of this opportunity.”
Now in its eighth year, the Rising Star award recognises the demonstration of leadership and innovation through the investment process with members’ best interest being at the forefront of decision making.
Candidates for the Rising Star award are assessed by a panel of industry experts on the following criteria:
